When my local ATC Group set a theme of Sports for it's June swap, I knew I wanted to do something on the World Cup.
I picked up a cable tv brochure advertising for it's World Cup subscription package. It supplied the football image and title. A sports betting shop brochure supplied the image of the footballer. The Slovakia and Netherlands badges came out of a bag of potato chips. Printed random football worlds onto the Anna Griffin crackle paper then collaged the rest on top.
Completed ATC :
A happy coincidence that the badges represented a Round of 16 matchup which Netherlands (my favourite team) won 2-1.
Supplies :
Pattern Paper - Anna Griffin, brochures
Embellishment - metal badges

Pet Magnets
My design project for KCK was to feature the Basic Grey Max & Whiskers collection which has such lovely autumnal colours. I decided to make some fridge magnets to show off the animals
in this line.
Supplies :
Completed Magnets :
in this line.
Supplies :
BG (M&W) embellishments - chipboard stickers, die-cut shapes, woolies, decorative clips
Others - magnets
Completed Magnets :
This is a fun project where I simply chose die-cut frames and chipboard animal shapes that work well together. Then I added some clips for message slips and mount each completed frame on magnets. They definitely liven up my all-white refrigerator door.

This was a fun project where I simply chose die-cut frames and chipboard animal shapes that work well together. Where the frames have distracting journalling boxes, I simply painted them over with white acrylic or covered them up with a different pattern paper.
Then I added some clips for message slips and mount each completed frame on magnets. They definitely liven up my all-white refrigerator door.

Ballerina Puppet Magnet
I'm submitting this Father's Day puppet magnet for City Crafter's challenge #9 based on the photo colours, music score, featuring a face and a project to be displayed on a vertical surface (like the masks).
Supplies :
Pattern Paper - tea stained music score, Basic Grey(Ambrosia), Cosmo Cricket (Haunted Ominous), Imaginisce (Timeless Aged to Perfection)
Embellishments - rhinestones, flower, magnets, lace trim
Completed Puppet :
I'm glad the photo of my niece worked well (size and expression wise) with the puppet template.
The greeting in Italian says "Happy Father's Day". I mounted both the puppet and the greeting on magnets. My niece will be sticking the puppet magnet up on her Papa's home office notice board on Father's Day as a surprise.
Inspiration :
The ballerina puppet is based on a template from Sandra Evertson's book : Fanciful Paper Projects which features lots of paper-based dolls. She's a great inspiration for pure fantasy creations.

Jester Puppet Magnet

Supplies :
Pattern Paper - Playing Cards, Basic Grey (Ambrosia), Creative Imaginations (Teri Martin),
Around the Block
Embellishments - chipboard frame, cord, brads, magnets
Completed Puppet :
The photo of my nephew's joyous face fits nicely with the puppet template. I added the greeting inside a chipboard frame decorated with brads. Then mounted both onto magnets. My nephew will be giving it to his Papa on 20th June. A nice change from the normal Father's Day card as this can be displayed on my brother-in-law's fridge or whiteboard.

A Gentlemen's Vest
I'm inspired by The Victoria and Albert Museum's publication on their Fashion Collection : 19th Century Fashion in Detail . It has close-up photos of the designs as well as line drawings of the garments.
Supplies :
Pattern Paper - g.c.d studio (Sent of Christmas's Garland)
Embellishment - Metal squares, ribbon
Completed Card :

Another card at uses only three supply items (the pattern paper is yellow on the reverse).
It's quite liberating to see that sometimes less is more. My g.c.d. studio paper seem to minic the plush, exotic brocade of a 19th century gentleman's vest pretty well - right down to the slightly embossed texture on the paper.
This card is for my cousin Pei Xiang's birthday.

Old Chinese Vest
The Victoria and Albert Museum's publication on their Fashion Collection : Dress in Detail From Around the World. It has close-up photos of the designs as well as line drawings of the garments. My SEI paper seem to call out to be reinterpreted as the textile for a 19th century Chinese man's vest.
Supplies :
Pattern Paper - SEI (Oasis asku)
Embellishment - beads, ribbon
Completed Card :
Of all my cards, this one uses the least supply items - one pattern paper, beads and ribbon. You can't tell from the photo, but the three pockets are actual pockets. I have a new appreciation for dressmakers who have to match the textile patterns when drafting.
I enjoyed working out where to hinge the opening for the card.

Swing
I've been wanting to use jigsaw puzzle shapes in my craft work for a while. When I saw this Barney puzzle on sale, it was just what I could use.
.JPG)
New technique tried - altering the individual puzzle pieces with pattern paper and a little Versa color around the edges. I'm happily surprized by how well they still fit together. Took me a while to work out that the bottom left corner pieces worked best with the elf's seated body shape. And propping up the "Hi" piece gave a nice emphasis to the sentiment. This card will go out to Paul next month.
Supplies :
Pattern Paper - K&Company (christmas cheer), L&Company (life's journey) Basic Grey (urban prairie's ladybug), National Library's read&reap brochure features the boy elf on a swing.
Embellishments - jigsaw puzzle, metal flowers, nylon cord, ribbon, rhinestone, brads, chipboard alpha (heidi swapp)

Lara's Plaque
This door plaque is a welcome home present for my niece which she can hang on her room door. Hope the result of my first altered CD appeals to the eight-year old.
Supplies :
Pattern Paper - K&Company (Amy Butler), Basic Grey (Queen Anne's Lace), a.e.i.o.u
Embellishments - CD, laces, ric-rac ribbon, thread, rhinestones, pearls, buttons, stickers, metal / pearline / clay flowers, hair-tie
Completed Plaque :
.JPG)
The front has daggling tags that spells out her name. I think the tiny house (from a girl's ponytail tie) fits really well with the "welcome home" theme.
The back has a pocket to slip the IN/OUT indicator.

Merci
This card is based on this Stampartic sketch and is inspired by a lovely portrait by Holbein of Ann of Cleves. I photocopied it in black and white as I wanted to try the contact paper transfer technique.

Embellishments - metal flower, pearls, silk flowers, lace, metal charm, beads
Completed Card :

One of the most time consuming card I've made :

Embellishments - metal flower, pearls, silk flowers, lace, metal charm, beads
Completed Card :
One of the most time consuming card I've made :
- The transfer took an hour but was worth it as I like how script pattern shows through in the semi-transparent areas
- Each of the three lace strips were handcut on one side to highlight the floral shapes
- Didn't have a frame large enough, so I custom made one using metal flowers & pearls
- Also handmade a little jewel necklace for her
- Lastly, the brown crochet-looking flowers were originally white. I dyed them with acrylic paint to match the colours of the card
