Wedding Keepsake Box

This Wedding Keepsake Box is my first design project for KCK and has a step-by-step tutorial. I got to use the Basic Grey Cappella Collection that has. It's probably my most single-collection focused project. Entering it for Scrap It Lah's July Alter Anything challenge.

Inspiration :

I love to give new life to what's laying around the house and what would normally go into the recycling bin. This time I altered humble matchboxs into a 10-drawer box to hold little cherished treasures.

Supplies :

Basic Grey Cappella Collection - chipboard stickers, journalling transparencies, rub-ons, glazed brads, Pageantry paper, Aria paper
Others - 10 matchboxes, 1/8" foam board, acrylic paint, pearls, silk flowers

Instructions :

Here are the original matchbox sleeves being glued between the 2 paper-covered foam boards. And the matchbox inserts given a coat of arcylic paint. It took 2 attempts to mix a shade of aquamarine that complements the BG Cappella colours.

Completed Box :

It was fun to combine an easel to add height to the drawers below. In this last pic, you can see all 10 drawers and a peep of the raw brown edge of 2 sleeves.

Chocolate & Mint Thank You

Nearly 3 weeks since I made anything. My papers and crafting supplies have been hidden behind a wall of boxes as the movers have delivered my sister's belongings from the US. Luckily I have this Thank You wrapper and some Basic Grey chipboard laying around.

Supplies :

Pattern Paper - wrapping paper, Chatter Box (Artsy.licious willow)
Embellishments - Basic Grey (Capella) chipboards & brad, ribbons, buttons, silk flowers, eyelets, DMC embrodery floss

Completed Card :

Quite pleased with the cascade effect of small white flowers and banner pannets from the floss threaded through the white eyelets. This card will be going to Suet Peng at CCHS.
